World Health Day is observed globally on April 7 each year, sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and related organizations. In 1950, the First World Health Assembly designated April 7 as World Health Day. The day marks WHO’s founding and highlights an important health issue each year. It is one of eight official WHO global health campaigns, alongside others like World Tuberculosis Day and World Malaria Day.
The 2020 World Health Day tagline was: Support nurses and midwives.
